Quad Cities Bars

Since the last update, I’ve added the Probstei Inn, Frank’s Club Napoli, Stoeger’s, Scott’s Shovelhead Shed, The Quarry, New Wooden Nickel, and the Bix Lounge at the Blackhawk Hotel, bringing the new total to 327. Speaking of the Blackhawk, the renovations are done and the place looks great. Rooms are excellent, too – great bed, separate tub and shower, and even a flat screen TV built into the mirror in the bathroom. Saturday night we attended Havana DayDreamin’ at the River Center, and the reason we reserved a room at the Blackhawk (which reopened December 15) was because the Radisson was sold out back in September.  Glad it worked out that way. As I mentioned last time, I'm going to need some help getting to 400, and this will probably come about through turnover (though I certainly don't wish ill on any tavern).  Here are the 31 physical locations that account for 69 of the bars on the list: Kilkenny's > Dalton's Mound Street Landing > Village Idiot

We were discussing the re-opened Blackhawk Hotel with other members of the Quad City Parrot Head Club (we’re staying at the Blackhawk for the upcoming Havana Daydreaming night at the River Center ), and someone asked what the name was of the restaurant that used to be at the top of the hotel.  Realizing the only time I had been to High Notes we had a drink at the bar while for a table, I added it to the list.  On Wednesday, I hit Charlie’s in Colona, and Brucer’s Dawg House in East Moline , so the list stands at 320.  This means I’m 80 short of my 12/31/2011 goal of 400 QC Area bars.  Plenty of time left; my concern is inventory.  By my count (and I’m hoping to have input from readers in case I’m missing any), there are 57 left: Davenport (37) 3rd St. Bar & Grill Bait Shop Big Daddy's Bix Lounge Blueport Junction Brady St. Pub Chuck's Tap Club Fusion

Added Buffalo Wild Wings (Moline), Carlos O’Kelly’s (Davenport), Village Pub, and Anna’s Village Tap (both in Milan), plus realized my list was missing the bars at Hidden Hills and Olathea golf courses.   The count is now up to 317, and you can see them all by clicking ‘The List’ above.   All for now.
